Country superstar, Dolly Parton is torn between her good friend, Billy Ray Cyrus, and his daughter, Miley Cyrus.

It appeared that Miley and Billy Ray had gotten on better terms but apparently, that is false. Now, Dolly is between a rock and a hard place due to her kind heart. So, what is going on and how is she handling it? Keep reading for more details.

Dolly Parton Torn Between Miley & Billy Ray Cyrus

It was a good situation with Dolly Parton, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Miley Cyrus. She had become so close to the family that she became Miley’s godmother. More so, she appeared on Hannah Montana alongside Miley as did Billy Ray. It was always a family affair until Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus officially divorced in 2022. This was the third time they had filed so it should not have been a shock. He then quickly moved on with Firerose who was thirty years his junior and that caused a lot of dissension with his children.

Miley sided with Tish who began dating Dominic Purcell. It was later discovered he had dated Tish’s younger daughter, Noah Cyrus, as well so they had to work through those issues. Noah, for her part, was on her dad’s side. When Dolly was asked about Firerose, she said this:

She seemed like a sweet girl.

More so, Dolly noted that she loved both Billy Ray and Miley equally. Unfortunately, seven months after they tied the knot, Billy Ray filed for an annulment. He accused Firerose of fraud and stealing tens of thousands of dollars from him. However, she claimed he was abusive, and a recording of him bashing her and his family was released. After all that has gone down, Miley allegedly does not like Dolly being close to her father. Yet, Dolly cannot bail on her close friend so fast.

According to In Touch, an insider shared this:

Dolly is not impressed by the way Billy Ray has treated anyone lately, she was appalled by what came out during his divorce with Firerose and of course she would never support him hurting Miley. But she’s also not the type to just cut people out. She believes in forgiveness, so as upset as she is with Billy Ray, she’s still taking his calls.

Allegedly, Dolly Parton is broken seeing what this has done to the family. She has known Billy Ray Cyrus for decades and has always adored him. Furthermore, Miley Cyrus is her goddaughter so the two have a very special bond. Therefore, she has tried but failed to get the family back together:

She’s even tried to make peace between him and Miley. Those efforts have failed, but she hasn’t given up, she’s still hoping they can come back together and it’s something she’s always pushing Miley towards when they talk.

At this point, Miley is supposedly done with her dad and would love for Dolly to feel the same way. That does not seem likely as Dolly is strong and powerful so she thinks for herself. Hopefully, they can all remain friendly with no resentment.
