Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter Halsey has recently disclosed an unsettling incident involving a “really powerful executive” who allegedly accessed her private photos without her permission.

On October 30, 2024, in a Call Her Daddy podcast, the New Jersey artist known off-stage as Ashley Nicolette Frangipane described the disturbing breach, suggesting that in that moment, she was “frozen” when a high profile executive underwent her n*de pictures without the consent of her phone —

“I was just frozen. I was like, ‘Did I just imagine that? Was that an accident? Did the phone scroll up? What the heck just happened?” the singer noted.

Ashley Nicolette Frangipane is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Born September 29, 1994, Ashley is famous for her successful music career, particularly her hit songs that resonate deeply with fans. Halsey accuses powerful industry executive of accessing her private photos

On Wednesday, in an exclusive appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alex Cooper, Halsey took a moment to reflect on an alleged disturbing experience she had with an executive that she did not name.

The singer claimed that this incident took place several years ago while she went out with the “powerful executive,” who holds a position in the music industry —

“I had a really strange situation a couple years ago. I guess it was quite a long time ago, but I was out and I was with this executive, this really powerful executive who works in music in some capacity,” the singer said.

Halsey further detailed the pivotal moment when the privacy breach occurred. The unnamed executive requested to take a selfie with her. After taking the photo, she handed her phone to him, asking him to send the pictures himself as she needed to use the restroom —

“I took a selfie of the two of us and I handed him my phone and I was like, ‘Text it to yourself. I have to pee,” the singer added.

Halsey further noted that upon returning from the restroom, the executive handed her the phone downward, obscuring the screen. She realized the executive had accessed her private photos when she took the phone. She also indicated that she is unaware of whether the executive sent the images to himself or took any further actions with them —

“And then I went to the bathroom and when I came back, he handed me my phone like this. And I saw he was going through my n*des on my phone. .. I don’t even know where these are now,” the singer continued.

The conversation was prompted during the New Jersey artist’s appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, where host Alex Cooper discussed the s*xual power dynamics within the entertainment industry.

Continuing her story, Halsey expressed that the incident occurred at a time when she felt empowered, as she had bodyguards and could not believe that such an “invasive” act had taken place —

“I’m in this situation where I have so much power. I have a bodyguard and I have, you know… And then this invasive thing just happens on a whim,” the singer continued.

Lastly, the American singer described the situation as highly “demoralizing,” as she felt like any other woman whose vulnerabilities had been exploited. She noted that she has experienced various challenges throughout her career, but this specific incident has particularly resonated with her, describing it as “nonchalant.”

The singer-songwriter released her fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, on October 25, 2024. It has 18 tracks.
