Do Referees ‘Favor the Chiefs’? Dallas Cowboys Micah Parsons’ Bold Take

Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons gave his honest thoughts on the referees in the Kansas City Chiefs’ matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Kansas City Chiefs escaped a thriller against the Cincinnati Bengals to stay undefeated on Sunday.

While the game was very competitive throughout, many fans around the NFL have complained about the officiating, especially at the end of the game. Following the game, Dallas Cowboys star Micah Parsons took to his podcast, “The Edge,” and provided his thoughts on the referees.

“That game was pretty crazy,” Parsons said. “A lot of calls went both ways, and I’m going to be honest … I feel like the refs did favor the Chiefs a little bit more. But at the end of the day, you can’t put the game in the refs’ hands.”

While Parsons’ opinion does not change anything about the outcome of the game, it is still interesting to hear thoughts from an outside perspective in the league.

The most pivotal (and controversial) call came in the final minute, when Bengals safety Daijahn Anthony was called for pass-interference on a fourth down incompletion for the Chiefs that would’ve likely sealed the game for Cincinnati. Instead, the Chiefs advanced into field goal range with the penalty, and kicker Harrison Butker nailed a 51-yard field goal as time expired to give Kansas City the victory.

While the loss for Cincinnati dropped them to 0-2, both sides seemed adamant that they will see the other again in the postseason.

Looking ahead, the Chiefs will look to stay undefeated against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night.
