The Kansas City Chiefs are the NFL’s current gold standard, set on the gridiron with victories season in and season out, along with an era-defining Super Bowl success. The Patrick Mahomes era. Something owner Clark Hunt would be proud of. After all, the Chiefs reflect his philosophy — from their aggressive, never-settling mentality to their meticulous attention to detail, including physical and mental fitness. It seems Clark himself has an uncompromising approach toward fitness.

Hunt, apparently, is on the top rung of Peloton subscribers. Considering the app has around 6 million users, that puts him among an elite bunch in the world when it comes to cycling, or rather, aerobic fitness. Clark’s daughter, Gracie, a former Miss USA semifinalist, said her family lives by the mantra instilled by Clark: “Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”

Gracie, who works in public relations for her father’s NFL franchise while also managing a clothing line collaboration with Erin Andrews, revealed some finer details about her family on Sports Spectrum’s What’s Up podcast. She elaborated on Hunt’s “crazy workout routine” as well.

“You probably wouldn’t know my dad is like the most athletic [and] competitive person ever. You might think competitive, but when I say athletic, I mean he was in the top and still is in the top 1% of Peloton users… he biked like an absolute legend in the mountains… [he] has a crazy workout routine,” said Gracie, who is herself a marathoner.

Gracie credits her father for inspiring her healthy lifestyle and for instilling the necessary traits to succeed professionally.

“Starting in first grade, [he] was helping me get conditioned for soccer… he’d wake me up and make me run a mile on the treadmill every day before breakfast. And that’s maybe where my love for running started was with him… hard work, dedication and consistency are the things that build up over a long period of time,” added Gracie.

Clark’s maxims are evident in how he has forged the Chiefs. The side brims with superstar talent — Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and others. And they are known to be one of the hardest-working franchises in the league, unwilling to settle as second best.

That combination has the Hunts on the precipice of an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl triumph. There would be no better proof of concept for their approach to life than a victory next Sunday.
