Carrie Underwood reveals special update about Hulu concert film on New Year’s Eve
After performing in Las Vegas over the past three in a residency, American superstar Carrie Underwood will relive the experience in an exclusive Hulu concert special
Grammy Award winner Carrie Underwood announced her concert special to celebrate her critically acclaimed Las Vegas residency show, which will be coming exclusively to Hulu in January.
The residency concert includes Underwood’s catalog of hits, and now viewers who couldn’t make it to Vegas can see the live performances on their screens.
In December 2021, Underwood launched her residency and became the first and longest-running headliner at the Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas.
Hulu says the concert special “will give audiences a front-row seat at the larger-than-life show Underwood has performed during her three-year plus run at Resorts World Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas.” Underwood shared her thoughts on her concert film during an ABC News special in November. “I feel like it would’ve been a real shame if it just lived on in people’s memories. People can relive those moments and get to watch them and experience them and maybe see things they missed when they came out,” the American Idol alum said.
On New Year’s Eve 2024, Underwood took the stage in Times Square to sing for the massive crowds before the ball dropped. The 41-year-old entertainer mashed up three of her records: Before He Cheats, Church Bells, and Pink Champagne.
After her performance, presenter Ryan Seacrest asked the country star what else she could tell fans about the special. Underwood responded by revealing the film’s release date: “It comes out Jan 24,” she said excitedly. She added, “It’s my reflection show from Las Vegas; it’s fabulous. Check it out!”
Seacrest also asked Underwood what she enjoys more– “being a contestant or judge” on American Idol. Underwood and Seacrest have begun filming Season 23 of the iconic singing competition, which will air in March 2025.
“Oh man, nerves with both. I was living up out my dream, just hoping for a fraction of this right here,” Underwood said, gesturing to the live audience. She added: “Now I get to be on the other side of it. I’m still nervous; I’m nervous for them, but I’m also really excited.”
