Chiefs’ opener against the Ravens was delayed
Antonio Brown
As the Kansas City Chiefs prepared to face the Baltimore Ravens in their 2024 season opener, a 1 hour and 40-minute rain delay left fans restless.
Among them was former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown, who lightened the mood with a playful yet cutting remark aimed at Patrick Mahomes‘ younger brother, Jackson Mahomes.
On September 5, Brown posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account: “Rain delay = more time for Jackson Mahomes to weird out people in the suite.”
The jab targeted Jackson, who has often drawn criticism for his social media antics, particularly his TikTok videos filmed at Chiefs games.
Brown‘s comment, however, may not sit well with the Mahomes family, especially with Patrick and Jackson’s mother, Randi Mahomes.
Will Randi defend Jackson Mahomes?
Randi has previously defended her children from harsh criticism. In a statement from July, she expressed frustration over the negative attention.
“I’ve blocked thousands of people on social media,” Randi said, “but there are times I look and see so much hate directed at me and my children… I respond sometimes, but I can’t do that for everyone.”
With Brown now taking a public dig at Jackson, fans are left wondering if Randi will defend her son or choose to remain silent.
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Brown has mentioned the Mahomes family. Recently, he offered support to Patrick Mahomes‘ wife, Brittany Mahomes, after she faced backlash for liking a post about Donald Trump‘s 2024 campaign.
Brown publicly backed Brittany by resharing her post and writing, “Don’t let the media guilt trip you on who you vote for. Trump is not racist, media got agendas.”
While Antonio Brown has shown support for Brittany, his critical take on Jackson Mahomes might not be as well received by the Mahomes family. Whether they respond to Brown’s latest comments remains to be seen.
