Who is Lexi Thompson’s fiancé? Meet her future husband Max Provost.
Lexi Thompson made no secret of her desire to settle down and start a family when she announced plans to retire from the LPGA at the end of the 2024 season.
Just a matter of hours into 2025, those plans kicked into high gear.
Born in Florida, Thompson has always kept details of her private life to a minimum.
It’s after she was thrust into the LPGA spotlight early on, after qualifying for the US Women’s Open as a 12-year-old in 2007.
During a glittering amateur career, she made the cut at the third attempt in her national open, as a 14-year-old in 2009.
She turned professional one year later and went on to win 15 titles on tour – including a major triumph at the 2014 Kraft Nabisco Championship.
However, she stunned the golf world in May 2024 when she went public with her retirement plans.
Who is Lexi Thompson’s fiancé?
Thompson’s other half is Max Provost.
The pair were first spotted together ahead of the Solheim Cup, walking down the red carpet on gala night.
Captained by Stacy Lewis, the US side won the biennial match for the first time in seven years, with Thompson securing one point.
All eyes were on her partner beforehand, dubbed the ‘mystery man’ by keen fans.
Little is known of the American and when they began dating, but according to Provost’s LinkedIn profile, he is a sales professional.
He is based in Florida, at a company called Intuitive, where he works with physicians and surgeons.
Thompson’s boyfriend graduated from Florida State University College of Business with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
It is unclear how the pair met.
But in announcing her retirement, Thompson shared that she was keen to settle down.
“Once I made the announcement, it definitely took a little bit of a weight [off my shoulders],” she said.
“I’m just trying to come out here, sign all the autographs, embrace the fans and really appreciate them and the sponsors and just be lucky that we’re out here.
“I’ll be 30 next year, so settle down, get married, have a family. That’s my No.1 priority.”
On January 2, 2025, Thompson announced that she and Provost had got engaged on New Year’s Day during a festive trip to Whistler in British Columbia.
“I said YES to my forever and always,” wrote the 29-year-old on Instagram, sharing a picture of the moment of her soon-to-be-husband popped the question on bended knee.
Paula Creamer, Michelle Wie West, Annika Sorenstam and Nelly Kord were amongst those who were quick to congratulate the happy couple.
