It appears Davante Adams has some explaining to do.
In the midst of trade discussions, more information is surfacing on when the wideout actually requested a trade from the Las Vegas Raiders, and it explains why his head coach did what he did on social media.
Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce made waves when he appeared to like a post on social media that said Adams could be done in Las Vegas:
It was weird that it came out of nowhere.
Davante Adams said he didn’t know what was going on with that situation and hadn’t heard from him in the aftermath.
It turns out Adams actually already requested a trade before Pierce liked that post on Instagram.
“I’m out. Get me out. I don’t want my career to end like this,” Adams told Pierce, per Fox.
Davante Adams then lied on Up & Adams when he said he hadn’t heard from his head coach.
“I haven’t heard from [Antonio Pierce]. I haven’t talked to him,” Adams told Up and Adams host Kay Adams on Tuesday of last week. “I don’t really know what that was about. Obviously social media is a beast, so it’s a lot of people out there that saw it and wondering what’s going on, and people reaching out.”
Has Davante Adams Truly Played His Final game For The Raiders?
The talk of the past 18 months for the New York Jets has all been about trading for Davante Adams.
That may actually happen since he and the Raiders are on board with getting him traded.
As Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams continues waiting for a resolution to his trade request, one wonders if the team plans to sit him until one is done.
Adams was out last week due to injury, and even if he progressed enough to play, would the team take the chance of him being hurt and affecting a trade?
