Vice President Kamala Harris is hitting on all media platforms to reach voters ahead of Election Day, including daytime television.

Harris was the star guest on the popular daytime talk show, “The View,” today, talking with Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Ana Navarro, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin, her first live talk show appearance since she became the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party.

The last time Harris was on the program was in 2021 when two of the co-hosts tested positive for COVID-19 prior to the current vice president’s appearance on the show.

Goldberg was visibly excited to announce Harris’ arrival, introducing her as the next president of the United States as she came through the doors and greeted the studio audience before sitting down with the six women at the table.

Kamala Harris on 60 minutes: funding her economic plan through 'fair' taxes

Harris first talked about the call she got from President Joe Biden where he told her that he was stepping down as the presidential nominee and wanted her to take the reins and what happened after.

“One of the first people I called was my pastor, I mean, I needed to talk to God,” Harris said.

When asked what would be different in a Harris presidency versus a Biden presidency, she said that there would be a greater focus on taking care of small businesses.

And when pressed if she would have done anything differently these past four years, had she been president, she said that nothing really came to mind, reiterating the Biden-Harris administration’s accomplishments like capping the cost of insulin at $35 and creating 800,000 new jobs in manufacturing.

Kamala Harris on Hurricane Milton

Confronting Florida Governor Ron DeSantis statement that Harris did not call him ahead of Hurricane Milton, Harris said she did call him in terms of aid and made a plea to Floridians.

“This hurricane coming to Florida is predicted to be historic, in terms of how serious and devastating,” Harris said. “If they’re telling you to evacuate, take your stuff and go.”

When asked about former President Donald Trump pushing false allegations that FEMA funds are being diverted to migrants instead of hurricane survivors, Harris said that Trump was being irresponsible and callous.

“I fear that he really lacks empathy,” Harris said.

Kamala Harris on immigration

Harris talked about the bipartisan immigration legislation her administration propped up that she said Trump helped shoot down in Congress.

“Donald Trump prefers to run on problems instead of fixing problems; he’s not solution-oriented,” she said.

Harris also said that there was a shortage of agents at the border, leading to them working long hours.

“If we want a real fix to this, Congress has to act.”

Kamala Harris on health care

When asked about what she would do for people in the “sandwich generation,” individuals who will have to take care of both children and elders in the home, Harris said that she wants to allow Medicare to pay for in-home health care, so that people don’t have to send their parents to nursing homes and give seniors the dignity they deserve.

“Here’s how we pay for it, part of what I also intend to do is allow Medicare to continue to negotiate drug prices against these big pharmaceutical companies, which means we are going to save Medicare the money because we’re not going to be paying these high prices,” Harris said.

Harris then said that the resources saved can then go toward Medicare covering in-home health care.

Harris also said that her plan is about strengthening Medicare so that people can keep their current plan while getting Medicare coverage.
