Becky Lynch lost to Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania XL.

Becky Lynch made a phone call to a WWE Hall of Famer regarding a WrestleMania match.

Lynch recently unsuccessfully challenged Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship at WrestleMania XL. She’s currently on hiatus with a lot of questions about her contract status.

At last year’s WrestleMania in Los Angeles, The Man made a call to Trish Stratus regarding a potential program. Stratus was interested and there were even plans for them to face each other at the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, there was not plenty of time to make it happen, so they went a different route.

Stratus told Kenny McIntosh of Inside The Ropes the story of her WWE return last year, which started when Becky Lynch rang her up.

“I felt like I’d done the babyface comeback,” Stratus said. “They’re fine, but I don’t want to wear out my welcome. I said, if I go back, I’d like to surprise people and do it a little differently. I thought as a performer, I would like to challenge myself and do a heel run because I hadn’t touched that for so many years. It was 18 years since I did a heel promo.”She added:

“So Becky called me and said, ‘Do you want to come back and do a match with me at WrestleMania?’ But we needed me to come back and turn first. We were spitballing how I could turn heel and then we brought in Lita. We thought it’d be cool to see me turning on Lita. You’re more invested in me turning on my friend of 20 years than me and Becky, who had no television history at that point. I was supposed to come in for a little bit after WrestleMania, do a little something. And then suddenly I was in a storyline every single week for the next six months. So we were not expecting that but that’s what happened.”

Is Becky Lynch on hiatus?

There were plenty of reports after WrestleMania XL that Becky Lynch was set to go on hiatus with her husband Seth Rollins. It is a well-deserved break for the WWE power couple, who are rumored to have expiring contracts.

However, it seems like The Man is refuting reports about taking time off since she’ll be on the company’s European tour this week. She defeated Piper Niven in a singles match on the first day of the tour in Birmingham, England.
