Dennis Allen is in need of another job.
After starting the season 2-0 and looking like a Super Bowl contender, no one had a clue that the New Orleans Saints would become one of the worst teams in the league.
The New Orleans Saints have lost seven games in a row, with the last game being to the Carolina Panthers.
Dennis Allen was already on the hot seat, and the Saints front office made it hotter when they fired him on Monday morning.
The seven-game losing streak is the longest single-season losing streak of Allen’s coaching career.
Here is how fans reacted:
NewOrleans. Football’s Nick Underhill reported that “everything is on the table after that loss” following Dennis Allen’s inability to get his team to beat a terrible Panthers squad.
Clearly, the loss to Carolina was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
This firing of Dennis Allen is a stark reminder of how far the Saints have fallen since Sean Payton stepped down as their head coach after the 2021 season.
Dennis Allen Leaves The Saints With A Terrible Overall Record
Hiring Dennis Allen as head coach did not work out for the New Orleans Saints at all.
Coming into the 2024 season, the team had a record of 16-18 with him.
Now, after getting fired, he leaves with a record of 18-25.
Overall as a head coach, Allen is 26-53.
