For over a decade, Ranvir Singh has been a familiar face on Good Morning Britain,
first stepping into the spotlight as a political editor before becoming a co-host alongside Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid.
In addition to her work on the morning show, Ranvir has expanded her presence in television with projects such as Riddiculous,
a quiz show, and Scam Britain: How To Stay Safe, a consumer advice series.
Beyond her professional success, Ranvir has also showcased her talent outside of journalism,

captivating audiences with her dance performances on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020. But while she thrives in her career, she has kept her personal life relatively private—until now.
In a candid interview with OK! Magazine, the presenter opened up about her journey as a single mother, her views on love, and the support she’s received throughout her career.
Raising a Son as a Single Mother
Ranvir, who was born in Preston, tied the knot with her former husband, Ranjeet Singh Dehal, in 2012. The couple welcomed their son, Tushaan, shortly afterward.
However, their relationship did not last, and Ranvir found herself navigating motherhood alone from the time she was pregnant.
Though she acknowledged her single status in an ITV Breakfast segment a few years later, she never discussed the details until she appeared on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast. Reflecting on that time, she shared:
“When you look back, you realize that life doesn’t always go according to plan. It’s never a straight road for anyone.”
She described the challenges of being a single parent, emphasizing how it created a deep and unbreakable bond with her son.
“There’s no hiding place when it’s just the two of you. There’s no partner to turn to at night when you need a moment to cry or vent. So everything—every joy, every worry—is shared between us in a very raw, honest way.”
As Tushaan approaches his teenage years, Ranvir is learning to balance her protective instincts with the reality that he is growing up.
“My whole world is wrapped up in him, but I am trying to release him a little bit. He’s 12 now, and I know that he’s not mine to keep.”
Finding Love Again with Louis Church
Ranvir has been in a committed relationship with TV production manager Louis Church since 2020. Despite their nearly two-decade age gap, she has dismissed concerns about their age difference, saying that what truly mattered was ensuring their relationship was the right fit for her and her son.
“When you’re a parent, it’s not just about your own feelings. You think, ‘Have I got the time for this? Will it affect my child?’”
Ranvir acknowledged that single parents approach relationships cautiously, knowing that any romantic commitment also involves their child.
“Falling in love is a brave decision, but when you have children, you take a lot longer to make that choice. It’s not just about the romance; it’s about how it fits into your entire life.”
Despite her careful approach, she believes taking the risk has been worth it.
“To love someone fully is a lifelong journey. It takes courage, but it can bring immense happiness.”
Support from Good Morning Britain Colleagues
Having been with Good Morning Britain since its launch, Ranvir expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her editors and co-hosts over the past 12 years. She credited her colleagues, particularly Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid, with helping her juggle work and home life.
“I feel very proud of managing everything over the years, but I haven’t done it alone. GMB is like a family—it’s a place where your home life and career can coexist.”
Embracing the Outdoors and Supporting the Canal and River Trust
Away from the TV screen, Ranvir enjoys spending time outdoors, especially along the local canals near her home in the Chiltern Hills. Her daily walks with her cockapoo, Shmizzels, and her son’s love for catch-and-release fishing have made the waterways a special part of their lives.
Her connection to nature led her to partner with the Canal and River Trust, an initiative encouraging people who live near waterways to volunteer and help maintain them.
“I never lived near water growing up, so I didn’t realize how much it could improve my quality of life. Now, it’s my escape—it’s peaceful, beautiful, and completely free.”
A Love for Podcasts and Finding Joy in Small Things
During her daily walks, Ranvir enjoys listening to podcasts, particularly Kathy Burke’s Where There’s A Will, There’s A Wake. She finds comfort in its lighthearted take on mortality, explaining how it serves as a reminder to make the most of every day.
“It sounds morbid, but it helps me appreciate life more. We can’t always make big changes, but even the smallest choices—like a walk, a laugh, or a moment of reflection—can make a difference.”
A Future Filled with Possibilities
As she continues to balance her career, motherhood, and personal life, Ranvir remains focused on embracing new opportunities and living in the present.
Whether she’s hosting a morning show, presenting a quiz, or walking by the canal with her dog, Ranvir’s story is one of resilience, love, and personal growth—a journey she is now ready to share with the world.
