Watch Snoop Dogg Grant This 61-Year-Old Flight Attendant a Second Chance on ‘The Voice’
If the world didn’t love Snoop Dogg enough after his time at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the legendary rapper is surely winning them over with his coaching debut on The Voice. One viewer even called him “such a breath of much-needed fresh air.” And now, Snoop has melted even more hearts after coming to a contestant’s rescue during Monday’s (Sept. 30) Blind Auditions episode.
Snoop Dogg “Felt the Spirit” Of His Mother
At 61, Gail Bliss is the oldest Voice hopeful on season 26. The South Carolina flight attendant set out to do “six epic things” upon turning 60, such as taking a trip to New Zealand and sailing in the Bahamas. She arrived on with just one item left to check off—audition for The Voice.
Bliss performed “If It Hadn’t Been for Love” by The SteelDrivers. Dancing in his big red chair, Snoop Dogg was clearly torn on whether to turn. At one point, his hand even hovered just above his big red button. Ultimately, the “Gin and Juice” hitmaker never pressed it—and neither did any of his fellow judges.
However, Bliss betrayed no hint of resentment when the coaches turned around to meet her. She seemed comfortable with where her journey was ending. Then, Snoop Dogg spoke.
“The spirit of my mother is in me right now. My mother’s sister’s name was Gail, which was one of my favorite aunties,” Snoop said. “You couldn’t see me, but I had my hand like this [hovering over the button] the whole way.”
“But they added a piece to the puzzle this year, called the Coach’s Replay,” he continued. “So, for example, if I was to push this red button right now, you would be on my Team.”
Fans Rejoice: “Snoop to the Rescue”
Gail’s spunk and last-minute redemption just may have established her as a fan favorite this season. “There has never been a contestant more worthy to be on The Voice than Gail Bliss!” one viewer wrote on X/Twitter. “Well done, Snoop Dogg! She’s going all the way.”
Another fan added, “Snoop to the rescue! Fly high Gail Bliss!”
