This Saturday, November 2, the presidential campaign of Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, will present a free concert in Charlotte with performances by great artists such as Jon Bon Jovi and Khalid. In addition, the event will feature Brittney Spencer and the duo The War and Treaty, in what promises to be a vibrant day of music and politics.
The concert will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. At the moment, the campaign did not disclose the location of the event, but participants are asked to register in advance.
Jon Bon Jovi supports the Harris-Walz campaign
Harris-Walz’s campaign team has organized this concert as part of its “When We Vote We Win” series of events, an initiative that aims to mobilize voters through music and celebrity support.
“These artists and public figures are trusted voices for millions of Americans who follow them on social media, listen to their music or are inspired by them,” the campaign said in a statement.
With these types of events, the campaign hopes to encourage more people to exercise their right to vote in the next election.
North Carolina in the crosshairs of the election
This concert will be Kamala Harris’ second visit to North Carolina in the same week. On Oct. 30, the Democratic nominee held an event in Raleigh, seeking to consolidate support in a state that could be key to the election results.
At the same time, Republican candidate Donald Trump will also be in the area on Saturday, holding a rally in Gastonia in the afternoon and another in Greensboro in the evening, underscoring the importance of North Carolina to both campaigns.
The last push before Election Day
The concert on Saturday, Nov. 2 will mark a pivotal point in the campaign as it coincides with the last day of early voting in North Carolina, before General Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5.
According to a recent poll conducted by SurveyUSA in collaboration with WRAL, Harris and Trump are virtually tied among likely voters in North Carolina, with each candidate garnering 47% support.
The poll also found Harris leading 7 percent among women, while Trump leads among men by a 6 percent margin. These results reflect the great uncertainty surrounding the election in this key state.
The data shows Harris has a slight edge among voters who have already voted, while those who plan to vote on Election Day tend to lean toward Trump. However, there are 8% undecided among those who will vote on November 5, making the latest effort of both campaigns in North Carolina a decisive factor.
