Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis made a priceless joke about “trading” Davante Adams for Tom Brady that has social media in stitches.

Two major pieces of news broke from Raiders land on Tuesday. For starters, Adams was traded to the New York Jets for a conditional 2026 third-round pick that can become a second. Second, league owners officially approved Brady’s bid to join Mark Davis and the Raiders’ ownership group.

Speaking to reporters about the dramatic day in Sin City, Davis was all smiles as he delivered a clever joke about swapping the All-Pro wideout for the seven-time Super Bowl champion, per CBS’ Jonathan ones.

“We traded Davante Adams for Tom Brady and a third-round pick today,” Davis said. “Although Tom can’t play, I think he can help us select a quarterback in the future.”

Mark Davis’ savvy joke here led to all sorts of hysterical reactions on social media:

The 47-year-old Brady had been pushing for a while to acquire a minority stake in the Raiders. Last year, he became a minority owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Raiders, whom Mark Davis also owns.

One concern about Brady’s ownership bid was how it would affect his work as an NFL analyst on FOX. Though owners gave him the green light to come aboard, Brady is barred from visiting other clubs’ facilities and critiquing the officials or rival teams on air.

Coming off a Week 6 blowout loss at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Raiders will try and improve to 3-4 on the season when they visit Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium on Sunday afternoon. After that, Vegas returns home for a showdown with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Times Are Never Dull For Mark Davis & Raiders

Not much has gone right for Mark Davis’ Raiders this year (Maxx Crosby shoved assistant coach Mike Caldwell), but they took a step forward on Tuesday. They finally addressed the Adams issue and got a day-two pick for his services, hours after bringing the most accomplished NFL player of all time aboard.
