Body language expert Judi James has analysed Molly-Mae Hague’s latest YouTube video where she addresses her shock split with ex-fiancé Tommy Fury for the very first time and admits to feeling lonely
Molly-Mae Hague spoke out on Thursday night by uploading a video to YouTube where she addressed her shock break-up Tommy Fury for the very first time.
A body language expert has now suggested that the former Love Island star, 25, feels ‘trapped’ after coming back to social media so soon after announcing her shock split – just one year after professional boxer Tommy, also 25, got down on one knee and popped the question.
Mum-of-one Molly-Mae finally addressed the former couple’s split, but insisted that she was never going to divulge the reasons why their love story had to end. Molly-Mae, who shares daughter Bambi, 20 months, with Tommy admitted: “I don’t really ever plan on talking about the past couple of weeks. That’s not something I feel comfortable with. This is real life. It’s not drama, it’s not tea or a publicity stunt.”
Opening up to her followers in the 36-minute video, she added: “This is real life. It’s very sad and it’s very deep. It doesn’t feel right for me to come on here to talk about it. I haven’t made a plan whatsoever about what I want to say. The last two weeks have been very, very real.
Molly-Mae made her return to YouTube on Thursday night
“It’s real life, something that we have been going through as privately as we can, but obviously not privately whatsoever because I haven’t really been able to get away from it.”
Molly-Mae also mentioned her former fiancé Tommy in her introduction, saying: “He is Bambi’s dad and I will always value him and respect him and obviously always have a lot of love for him. We were together for five years and it is very, very sad.”
Sharing her thoughts on the YouTube star’s body language, expert Judi James said: “Molly-Mae looks rather trapped here between her friendship with her loving, concerned fans and a desire to get back to work without spilling all about her split with Tommy and her body language lurches into some incongruent moments as a result.
“One message she seems desperate to put across is one of moving forward. She looks and sounds keen to press on with the brand, the ‘products’ and her normal relationship with her followers. To show this she tries to look upbeat, clapping her hands, and there are some pushing gestures to suggest she wants to get on with the job.”

The body language expert went on: “However, she is also aware that her fans love and support her want to hear the full story as her ‘best friends’. Her face pulls into a grimace of dislike as she tells them she won’t be doing ‘the tea’ type of reveal. She shows some dignity here but also some inner conflict. Like any celebrity power couple she talks Tommy up using words like ‘respect’ ‘value’ and even ‘love’.
“Her body language here manages to avoid any non-verbal leakage that might suggest otherwise. But there are also moments of barely-hidden sadness, when she can’t help but look upward with a dramatic eyelid flutter and perform a huge swallow to suggest she is close to tears.
“This is Molly-Mae appearing to try to be professional and trying to get things back on course again but she seems to have forgotten it is still probably too soon and maybe not completely sorted emotionally, so this brave face is looking like a bit of a front.”
