The country singer’s recent announcement came as a surprise to some.
While many country music fans were shocked when Carrie Underwood agreed to sing at Donald Trump‘s inauguration, others—like Taylor Swift—likely weren’t surprised.
A video from the 2013 Country Music Awards news featuring Swift’s reaction to the “Before He Cheats” singer performing a skit mocking the Affordable Care Act resurfaced following Underwood’s inauguration announcement this week.
In the clip, Underwood and her CMAs co-host, Brad Paisley, pretended to sign up for Obamacare online, making fun of how long the process took.
“It’s great,” Underwood joked. “I started signing up last Thursday and I’m almost done.”
The pair even launched into a song criticizing the healthcare program, singing about how they would develop “cataracts and dementia” by the time they were done getting enrolled.
Celebs in the audience had mixed reactions to the bit. While Blake Shelton and his then-wife Miranda Lambert laughed and clapped, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw were less enthusiastic, and Keith Urban appeared unamused. Swift, meanwhile, seemed unsure how to react, looking back and forth.
“Taylor Swift is so uncomfortable,” read the text overlay on the video, captioned, “I had no idea Carrie Underwood was maga.”
Commenters agreed that the “Fortnight” singer seemed ill at ease.
“Taylor was confused by them and took notes of who was clapping and said I’m making pop music from now on,” wrote one person.
“taylor, keith urban, tim mcgraw and faith hill really said ‘yeah no let’s pack it up’ lmfaooo,” agreed a second fan.
“Taylor said ‘HUH,'” joked somebody else.
“Taylor’s expression is everything!” declared another TikTok user.
Underwood’s reps confirmed she will perform at the inauguration in a statement shared with Parade.
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” it read. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
