Simone Biles Is Joining ‘The Voice’ Playoffs, but Fans Aren’t Quite Sure Why

The Voice has certainly kept viewers guessing this season. Mor Ilderton recently became the second contestant to voluntarily exit the show, following country singer Tanner Frick. During tonight’s (Monday, Nov. 25) episode, coach Snoop Dogg welcomes Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Simone Biles as a Playoff Advisor to his team. At this news, many fans took to social media to express their bewilderment.

Snoop Dogg is the king of unlikely friendships. This past summer, fans delighted in watching the West Coast icon twinning with BFF Martha Stewart during the U.S. Olympic equestrian team’s dressage event in Paris. Snoop also bonded with 11-time Olympic medalist Simone Biles, even gifting her dad, Ronald, with a Death Row Records chain for his 75th birthday.

Now, this dynamic duo are picking up where they left off on The Voice. Biles will advise Team Snoop’s artists during Monday’s (Nov. 25) episode as they gear up for the Playoff Rounds.

“We were able to riff off each other and give the artists the best insight going into the next round,” Biles told The Associated Press during a joint interview with Snoop.

While the legendary pair’s chemistry is undeniable, many viewers of The Voice were left scratching their heads at the prospect of a non-musician advising aspiring musicians in a musical competition show.

“does she have a musical career that we all aren’t aware of?” inquired one fan on X/Twitter.

Another fan added, “Makes about as much sense as Snoop becoming her gymnastics trainer.”

Why It Actually Makes Sense

However, not everyone was befuddled by Simone Biles’ upcoming appearance on The Voice. After all, The Voice is about performing just as much as it is singing. As the most decorated gymnast in history, Biles knows a thing or two about the public eye.

“For anyone asking why she is going on there, there is other advice that she can give the contestants that isn’t singing related like stage presence, how to deal with pressure, media training,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter.
