Tiger Woods was last spotted in public at the Open Championship in July, where he ended up missing the cut.
Although the news of his sixth back surgery in September was announced, the fans did not get to see a glimpse of him. But the wait was finally over. As Charlie Woods helped the Benjamin High School golf team find a top spot at the Mission Inn Resort & Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, his father was there behind the ropes supporting him.
It is needless to say, the entire golf community went completely gaga to see him after four months! This also caused a lot of speculation. The 82X PGA Tour Champion is yet to reveal where he might be seen performing next. But seeing him in public led to assumptions of him being part of the field in the next $7.6 million FedEx Fall event. However, they were only left with disappointment.
The eighth and final event of the 2024 FedEx Cup Fall, the RSM Classic, is scheduled to take place on November 21 at the Sea Island Seaside Course. A few hours ago, the official X account of the PGA Tour Communications took to their wall and shared the final field list with the spectators. Well, as it turns out, Tiger Woods will be skipping the upcoming event too, and the fans could not have been sadder.
But the question is, when will the 15X Major Champion make it back in the world of professional golf after a terrible 2024 season?
Tiger Woods might return in December
While promoting his new Sun Day Red apparel earlier this year, Woods shared that he needs a “cold plunge every day, religiously” to kickstart his body. He also admitted to feeling “extremely sore” after his four rounds at the Masters, where he finished last among the 60 players who made the cut. “I’m going to just keep getting physically better and keep working on it,” he said after his Open chances ended for another year.
As it turns out, his break plans are longer than the usual ones. While there have been no updates regarding his health after the latest surgery, there are speculations that if he goes through a speedy recovery, he might tee off at Albany in the Hero World Challenge. Additionally, there are possibilities of him fulfilling the family tradition by playing with Charlie Woods at the PNC Championship in December at Ritz Carlton. And of course, 2025 will indeed be a fresh start for him, with TGL finally launching. Do you think Tiger Woods will be able to make it to the field anytime soon?
