Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback JJ McCarthy has sent social media into a frenzy after viciously destroying the Green Bay Packers on Instagram.

JJ McCarthy is unfortunately out for his entire rookie season after undergoing surgery on a torn meniscus in August. But free agent signing Sam Darnold has emerged as the biggest surprise early in 2024, leading the Vikings to a perfect 4-0 start following Sunday’s 31-29 road victory at Lambeau Field.

While the Vikings were blowing out the Packers (they had a 28-0 at one point), McCarthy took to his Instagram story to share a photo of wide receivers Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison.

The two star wideouts lit up the Packers defense throughout the game, so the post included a feature from the “Madden” video game franchise that read, “ATTENTION: Your peer has conceded the game.”

And social media had all sorts of priceless reactions to JJ McCarthy ruthlessly trolling Minnesota’s archrivals:

Sam Darnold completed 20 pass attempts for 275 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. Jefferson had six catches for 85 yards and a touchdown, while Addison hauled in three catches for 72 yards and one score.

The game ended up being closer than Vikings fans wanted and expected, but you don’t get style points for victories in the NFL. The Vikings are rolling with a perfect 4-0 record heading into next Sunday’s game against the New York Jets in London.

JJ McCarthy Might Lose Starting QB Job To Sam Darnold

The Vikings may have used a first-round pick on McCarthy, but Kevin O’Connell has no reason to unseat Darnold next year if he keeps playing like this. There’s plenty of football remaining this year, yes, but Darnold’s strong play is already leading to questions about McCarthy’s future in Minny.
