LeBron James and his son Bronny made NBA history as the first father-and-son duo to play together in a regular-season game. This memorable moment happened during the Los Angeles Lakers season opener, where they secured a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. However, it marked Bronny’s first appearance for the Lakers before appearing in their most recent game against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Before the team prepared to face the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron and Bronny returned to Cleveland, their hometown, with deep meaning. For LeBron, Cleveland is where his NBA journey began, and he played for 11 seasons over two stints.
During that time, he led the Cavaliers to an unforgettable NBA Championship in 2016. Bronny witnessed the moment as a young child.
As the duo headed to their hometown, the Cavaliers honored Bronny and LeBron by sharing a throwback photo from their 2016 championship celebration. The image captured a young Bronny in a group photo with the Cavs while LeBron held the Larry O’Brien Trophy and his Finals MVP trophy.
LeBron and Bronny James Receive Standing Ovation In Hometown Cleveland
The Los Angeles Lakers may have taken a loss in their fifth game, but it was a memorable night for LeBron James and his son, Bronny. In their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron and Bronny received a heartfelt welcome from the city they call home.
During a timeout in the first quarter, the Cavaliers honored LeBron with a touching video tribute, showcasing highlights from his years with the team. The clip included a special appearance by a little Bronny. As the video ended, the arena announcer introduced LeBron and Bronny to the crowd, who responded with a standing ovation.
