Raiders Fans Furious with How Antonio Pierce Handled the End of the First Half

Las Vegas Raiders: Antonio Pierce Faces Criticism After Latest Loss

The Raiders showed poor game management at the end of the first half of their game against the Chiefs on Sunday, and fans were not happy with what they saw

The Las Vegas Raiders got the ball with under 2 minutes remaining in the second half, and they had a chance to attempt to score before halftime. Instead, they called two straight run plays on first and second down, giving the Chiefs the opportunity to use timeouts and get the ball back.

A 3rd and 8 incompletion gave Kansas City the ball back with 58 seconds remaining, and Patrick Mahomes led the Chiefs on a 9-play, 56-yard drive to kick a field goal before halftime. It was another instance of frustratingly conservative play-calling from head coach Antonio Pierce and offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, and fans were rightfully upset.

Pierce has cost the team on multiple occasions with highly questionable in-game decision-making. For a coach who constantly preaches physicality and imposes your will, it’s confusing to see the team so scared to take risks, especially as a big underdog at home.

The Raiders will attempt to overcome Pierce’s questionable coaching as they try to get back into the game against the Chiefs on Sunday.
