The Boston Celtics continued their impressive run this season with a hard-fought 130-120 victory over the Detroit Pistons at TD Garden. This win extended Boston’s dominance over Detroit, marking their 12th consecutive victory against the Pistons and pushing their season record to 18-4.
Jaylen Brown was the star of the night, delivering a performance that electrified both the crowd and the Celtics’ bench. From the opening minutes, Brown set the tone. However, one moment in particular that had fans on their feet was his eye-catching dunk over the Pistons star Isaiah Stewart in the first quarter.
Brown drove into the paint with purpose and then soared over Stewart for a thunderous two-handed slam. The play didn’t end there. The Celtics star then hung on the rim and delivered a bold celebration. The last season’s MVP didn’t hesitate mimicking a throat-slashing gesture. The crowd erupted, and the Celtics’ bench roared in approval.
Jaylen Brown Reflects To His Highlight Dunk Against Pistons
With their win over the Pistons, the Celtics also improved their stellar home record to 9-2, and it also marked Boston’s second straight win. While the team’s overall performance was impressive, Jaylen Brown stole the spotlight with his memorable dunk. However, the Celtics star later acknowledged the importance of staying mindful of league rules.
“Just caught up in the moment, I guess. Big play. I think that the NBA and the NBPA are sensitive about the gestures and things like that, so you’ve got to be mindful of that,” Brown said.
Brown ended the game against the Pistons as the lead scorer for Boston, contributing 28 points, six rebounds, and nine assists in 39 minutes. In the absence of Jayson Tatum, Sam Hauser and Kristaps Porzingis also stepped up, adding 20 and 26 points, respectively. The Celtics will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday.
