Liam Neeson has received a heartfelt gift from Scottish comedian Janey Godley who is sadly undergoing end-of-life care for terminal cancer.

The 63-year-old has warmed hearts by gifting her hand-knitted scarf to the Taken star. The delivery comes not long after the cherished comic revealed her terminal cancer diagnosis which now sees her receiving palliative care.

The Glasgow stand-up confirmed on social media that the action star has now received the scarf she has devotedly knitted for him for over a year. Taking to X, previously Twitter, Janey wrote: “The Liam Neeson scarf has arrived…

“I’ve been knitting him a scarf for a year!”

Photos shared on Instagram show Neeson proudly sporting the vibrant scarf. Another snap shows Godley busily knitting. The caption reads: “The Liam Neeson scarf has arrived in New York and he loves it.”

Godley went public with her ovarian cancer diagnosis back in 2021 but was celebrating her clean bill of health a year later. Tragically, last month heralded a harsh change. Godley was forced to axe her tour when doctors warned her of indications that the cancer might be making a comeback. In September, in a heart-breaking video, Godley informed her followers: “The chemo ran out of options and I just couldn’t take any more of it and the cancer has spread.

“So it looks like this will be getting to near the end of it and it’s really difficult to speak about this and say to people.”

Godley acknowledged the charities that have been by her side during her ordeal, going on to say: “I hope you all have a lovely Christmas. Hopefully I might be here. Who knows? Don’t know. I’m not a tick tock. But I just want you all to that I’m sending all my love and support to everybody else out there who is living with a life-limiting disease.”

Godley hit the headlines in 2018 when she held a sign reading “Trump is a runt” on the beach outside Trump Turnberry Luxury Collection Resort in Turnberry, Scotland during the ex-president’s UK visit on July 14.

The Republican nominee and former First Lady Melania Trump were on their first official visit to the UK and met with the Prime Minister and the late Queen before jetting north for a private weekend stay at his Scottish resort.

Hundreds of comments poured in for the comedian and the Hollywood actor. One user scribed: “Amazing! He is such a beautiful soul, isn’t he?” while a second penned: “You did a grand job, Janey. He’s wearing it with pride.”

A third chimed in: “Lucky man, gorgeous scarf. Liam’s looking well, isn’t he?” while a fourth concluded: “He’s the man!”
