Miley Cyrus is grateful to Pamela Anderson for sharing the success of her latest project with the Grammy winner.
Cyrus released her new single “Beautiful That Way,” which was written and recorded for Gia Coppola’s The Last Showgirl, on Dec. 9. The song’s release came shortly after being nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Original Song – Motion Picture.
After Cyrus’ nomination was announced, she thanked Anderson, 57, and Coppola, 37, for inviting her to collaborate on the production.
“It’s an honor to be nominated for Best Original Song alongside my friends and collaborators Andrew Wyatt and Lykke Li at the Golden Globes & Critics Choice Awards,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram.
“Pamela is graciously sharing her moment with us. I am continuing to root for her; it’s so fun to watch her shine,” Cyrus wrote of Anderson, who is a serious awards contender for the first time in her 35 years in Hollywood.
Cyrus concluded the post by thanking the director, writing, “Thank you Gia Coppola for inviting me to be a part of your gem The Last Showgirl.”

Cyrus’ latest single was co-written with producers Lykke Li and Andrew Wyatt.
“Pamela is deeply embedded into my earliest memories with my mother,” Cyrus told Variety. “We both worshipped Pam and still do.”
“I took the emotion I have towards those times with my mom and the few times we’ve gotten to spend with Pam. I thought a lot about what this film means to her not just as an actress but as the special person that she is,” Cyrus continued. “I celebrate evolution and she has done that in such a graceful way which is reflected in Last Showgirl.”
Anderson was also nominated for a Golden Globe for her work in the film, which costars Jamie Lee Curtis, Dave Bautista, Billie Lourd, Kiernan Shipka and Brenda Song. In her statement on the nomination, Anderson expressed her gratitude and gave Cyrus, Li and Wyatt a shout-out for their work.
“I share this beautiful nomination with The Last Showgirl Family, my family, and my hard working companions on this interesting journey,” Anderson wrote in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “It is never too late to dream, to start again, to stay open to possibilities — we are not all so lucky.”
“I wish everyone my love and thanks while I navigate this new exciting chapter,” added Anderson.
