Novak Djokovic maybe didn’t have a great 2024 season Grand Slam-wise but Laura Robson, Mats Wilander and Alex Corretja have no doubt that the Serb still has it what it takes to at least win one more time on the biggest stage
This past season, the 37-year-old went without a Slam title for the first time since 2017 but he did manage to make the Wimbledon final and reach the Australian Open semifinal.
While the Serb struggled, Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz established themselves as the new dominant forces and split four Majors between them.
And because of that, some believe that Djokovic has been left behind the two young stars and that we could see the same scenario in 2025.
But when asked if the record 24-time Grand Slam champion would win another Major, three Eurosport experts answered in affirmative.
“Yeah. He’s got Andy Murray as his coach, he’s got to win a Slam,” Robson said.
Wilander added: “Novak will win another Grand Slam is my prediction.”
“He can win any of them,” Corretja noted.
Djokovic underlined that winning a Slam will be his priority
After his 2024 season finished, the former world No. 1 acknowledged Sinner and Alcaraz’s great 2024 and noted that they, along with Alexander Zverev, will be among the top favorites for titles in 2025.
However, he also warned that he will try to do everything he can to challenge them and become the first player ever male or female with 25 Grand Slams.
“All of them will be the main candidates to win the Slams and other titles. However, physically and mentally I am ready to play my tennis again,” Djokovic said in November.
“I have the feeling that I can challenge these guys, and my experience can come in handy. So next year I will play more tournaments and the Slams in particular will be my priority:”
