Taylor Swift chose not to travel with Travis Kelce for the Kansas City Chiefs’ first away game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons. As kickoff began at 8:20 P.M., Swift wasn’t seen in Mercedes-Benz stadium. Typically, the singer is photographed arriving about an hour before kickoff; this is the first game of the season that she has missed.

Swift’s absence is understandable though, as she was photographed out Saturday night in New York City with Gigi Hadid. Swift attended Kelce’s previous two games, including last Sunday’s against the Cincinnati Bengals at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Swift brought her mother, brother, and aunts to see her boyfriend play then.

Even though Swift missed this week’s game, she has plans to be back in the stands. Us Weekly reported on Wednesday that Swift wants to attend as many Chiefs games as she can during her current tour break. She will resume her Eras Tour shows on October 18 in Miami.
A source spoke about how Swift’s interest in football is genuine. “Taylor has come to love football and is really excited the season is back,” they said. “She’s loved being around the football community. It’s a reprieve from work for her, and Travis is excited she’s fully ingrained in his world.”
Swift also spoke to Time last December about how much she has come to embrace the sport. “Football is awesome, it turns out,” she said. I’ve been missing out my whole life.”
She added that she isn’t trying to get attention at Kelce’s games or intentionally appear on the NFL broadcast. “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she said. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once.”
