First it was Sara Haines, now it’s Whoopi Goldberg — what’s going on over at The View? For the second day in a row, the talk show is missing one of its stars at the Hot Topics table.
When the ladies walked out to Diane Warren’s big bop of a Season 27 theme song, we saw Joy Behar, Sara Haines (welcome back!), Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin.
Notably missing was Goldberg, who typically takes off Fridays but rarely misses other shows. In her place was Behar, who moderated the Thursday show with her signature wit and snappy humor.

Where is Whoopi Goldberg on The View?
Behar got right down to business at the start of the show, addressing Goldberg’s absence in her introduction.
“Good morning, everyone,” Behar began. “Welcome to The View. I sense your disappointment that Whoopi’s not here. She took the day off, she’s not sick. She’ll be back, but we’re here.”
With that, she gestured at the ladies seated around the Hot Topics table, who were collectively dressed in different shades of purple in honor of GLAAD Spirit Day, which shows support for LGBTQ+ youth.

When will Whoopi Goldberg be back on The View?
We won’t see Goldberg tomorrow since Friday is her day off from The View. So, View fans will have to wait until next week to see her back on the show. DECIDER can confirm that Goldberg is expected back on The View on Monday, Oct. 21.
