Whoopi Goldberg offered Hillary Clinton a spot on ‘The View’ during the former secretary of state’s Friday appearance.ABC
Although her political aspirations are in the rear-view, Hillary Clinton could consider a pivot to television.
On Friday’s episode of The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg playfully floated the idea of Clinton joining the talk show’s roundtable on a more permanent basis as the former secretary of state promoted her new book Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love and Liberty.
“You sure you don’t want a gig? Like a part-time gig?” Goldberg asked before plugging the book, getting a laugh out of Clinton.
“Listen, we thank you for always coming to the table. It’s always a pleasure and an honor and we didn’t even talk about your husband,” she added, to which the former first lady quipped, “But I do! I talk about him in the book.”
In Something Lost, Something Gained, which is now available, Clinton offers her candid views on life, love, politics, liberty, democracy, the threats we face and the future within our reach.
In addition to Goldberg, The View‘s current lineup consists of Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin. The ABC daytime talk show is currently in its 28th season after the late Barbara Walters formed the first roundtable of women from all over the political spectrum in 1997.
Following her 2016 presidential campaign, Clinton has mostly stepped back from politics, although she founded the political action organization Onward Together in 2017. Hillary and husband Bill Clinton have recently shown their support for Kamala Harris ahead of the upcoming election.
