Joy Behar thinks Kamala Harris could easily defeat Donald Trump if she had a set of XY chromosomes. The View co-host proclaimed during this morning’s Hot Topics chat that Harris could crush Trump — if she were the opposite gender, that is.
While discussing former president Barack Obama‘s campaign efforts for Harris — which Behar said thrilled her so much she did “a happy dance” last night while watching him speak — the panel admired Obama’s “swagger” and debated the impact his remarks could have on voters.
“[Obama] comes out of retirement from politics because he knows the dire straits that we are in if this man wins this election,” Behar said, before predicting that Harris would annihilate Trump if she were a man.
“Basically it’s incompetence and racism on one side, and competence on the other side. And a woman — she happens to be a woman,” Behar said. “I keep saying, if she were a man, this would be a shoo-in.”
Ana Navarro piped up, “And think about it, there’s not a single Republican president or nominee out there for Donald Trump because they hate him!”
Meanwhile, Behar called on another former prominent Republican politician to stump for Harris.
“Where is [George H.W. Bush]? He needs to come out. I’m making a plea to George W. Bush for Kamala, yes,” she said.
Although she may still be waiting on that one, Sunny Hostin echoed former View guest Sen. Elizabeth Warren when she urged people not to vote against Harris because she is a woman.
“When she was here, [she] said, you don’t have to vote for Kamala because she’s a woman. But don’t vote against her because she’s a woman,” Hostin said. “And I think that that should be a resounding, resounding message.”
