Oops! Look what Taylor Swift made Megyn Kelly do!
After the “Look What You Made Me Do” singer publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, the former Fox News host went into a meltdown on her podcast.
“You can kiss your sales to the Republican audience goodbye, Taylor; hope you enjoyed them while you had them,” Kelly said on her YouTube show, The Megyn Kelly Show, right after the debate on Tuesday night.
Kelly went on to read part of Swift’s statement, in which the singer states, “I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades.”
The former Today host had a particular gripe with Swift, citing Harris’ running mate Walz as the person who pushed her to endorse them in their run for the White House. Kelly said she had been criticized before for calling out Swift with one of her viewers asking her not to boycott the singer.
“I’m allowed to criticize Taylor Swift and I don’t give a sh** who gets upset. This is disgusting,” Kelly said. “If she wants to vote Harris-Walz, she can do it all she wants but to say the reason she is doing it is because of Tim Walz’s stance on LGBTQ, eff you, Taylor Swift. And eff all of the people who want to see these children have body parts chopped off and watch them sterilized under the age of consent and then will ride off to their multi-gazillion dollar mansions, never to think of them again.”
“This pair, Taylor and her boyfriend Travis Kelce are the epitomes of elite snobs. They both have gazillions of dollars. She doesn’t care what happens to these kids, just like he doesn’t give a sh** what happens to all the young men who take the Pfizer booster he’s been pushing on them.”
Kelly was not the only one struggling to cope with Swift’s endorsement of the Democratic presidential ticket. Donald Trump took to Fox & Friends to say he was not a Swift fan and liked Brittany Mahomes (the wife of Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes) better.
“I was not a Taylor Swift fan,” Trump said. “It was just a question of time. You couldn’t possibly endorse Biden…But she’s a very liberal person. She seems to always endorse a Democrat, and she’ll probably pay a price for it in the marketplace.”
Trump called Brittany Mahomes “a big MAGA fan” and said, “That’s the one I like much better than Taylor Swift.”
In her endorsement for Harris and Walz, Swift called out the AI-generated image Trump shared on social media, where the singer falsely endorsed him for president.
“Recently I was made aware that AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential run was posted to his site. It really conjured up my fears around AI, and the dangers of spreading misinformation,” Swift wrote in her endorsement for Harris and Walz. “It brought me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my actual plans for this election as a voter. The simplest way to combat misinformation is with the truth.”
