Three of the biggest names in sports and entertainment hanging out together at Arrowhead Stadium could serve as the backdrop for a “breaking of the internet.”
It threatens to – as the kids say – “break the internet.” Caitlin Clark and Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift all on “the same team”?
As it happens, the WNBA sensation Clark is a proud Swiftie. And she’s also a fan of Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs. So it all dovetails together nicely when we come to the realization that Swift happens to be a fan of the Indiana Fever superstar Clark as well.
Clark made this tidbit known in a visit with TIME magazine as she was named “Athlete of the Year for 2024.” According to the reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, they also now have a budding friendship now that Swift has given her the gift of four goodie bags full of merchandise as a result of Clark attended the “Eras Tour” (twice) during its Indianapolis stop in November. (Sidebar: Why do all the rich people get all the free stuff?)
The Fever point guard also revealed in the interview that that Swift and Kelce are making plans to attend one of Clark’s games in Indianapolis once the new WNBA season starts.
From the TIME article: “Swift gave Clark four bags of “Eras Tour” merchandise with a note saying Clark was inspiring to watch from afar. She said, ‘Trav and I’ were excited to get to a Fever game now that the tour was winding down and invited Clark to attend a Chiefs game with her.”
There is no bigger pop star than Swift. There may be few bigger sports stars than Clark. And of course Kelce – star of stage and screen and sports – can hold his own in most any such setting.
So … the happy couple in Indy? So it seems? And Clark coming to a Chiefs game? That’s surely in play, too, at which time the two-time defending Super Bowl champions and GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium will serve as the backdrop for a “breaking of the internet.”
