Kamala Harris brought the people to “The View.” The Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate appeared on the chat show last Tuesday, October 8, averaging 3.143 million viewers – which gave “The View” its most-watched telecast since February 15, 2021.

That helped “The View” win the week of October 7 in total viewers (2.597 million) – up 12% from last year’s 2.316 million during the similar week. It’s the fifth week in a row that “The View” has been up vs. 2023, and it repped the show’s most-watched week in more the two and a half years (since the week of March 28, 2022).

Among its rival daytime network talk and news shows, “The View” beat the third hour of NBC’s “Today” (1.943 million viewers), “Today with Hoda & Jenna” (1.265 million) and “NBC News Daily” (1.265 million), as well as CBS’ “The Talk” (1.184 million).

Also last week, “The View” was up week-to-week in total viewers (up 6% to 2.597 million vs. 2.449 million), women 25-54 (up 7% to 192,000 vs. 180,000) and women 18-49 (up 9% to 138,000 vs. 127,000).

“The View” stop was part of a media blitz by Harris that included “60 Minutes,” “The Howard Stern Show,” “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and the podcast “Call Her Daddy.”

The appearance on “The View” repped Harris’ first live interview and first talk show appearance since becoming the Democratic presidential nominee. She was interviewed by “View” hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro.

The guest spot repped Vice President Harris’ eighth appearance on “The View,” having most recently appeared before that in January. Her appearance followed President Joe Biden’s “The View” visit on Sept. 25, which had up until that point been the show’s most-watched telecast of the season.

Season to date, “The View” is tops in total viewers (2.486 million), posting its best viewership since the 2020-2021 season.
