Justin Timberlake’s no-good year
He started 2024 being slammed by Britney Spears fans after she revealed in her memoir “The Woman in Me” that during the couple’s 1999-2002 relationship, Timberlake cheated on her multiple times, urged her to get an abortion and used their breakup to launch his solo career.
Janet Jackson’s fans were also furious at the “Sexy Back” singer after her longtime stylist Wayne Scott Lukas told me that after the infamous “wardrobe malfunction” at the 2004 Super Bowl, Timberlake feigned ignorance of the malfunction even though he had practiced the breast baring move a whopping seven times before the final performance.

He then announced his “The Forget Tomorrow” tour, which initially sold so slowly it prompted legendary music journalist Toure to say, “Sometimes you don’t retire — the fans retire you.”
And while some of his concerts are technically full, it’s because his tickets are basically being sold at fire sale prices.
Timberlake’s tour woes
A cursory glance for Timberlake’s upcoming New York City-area concerts on StubHub shows plenty of empty seats selling for as little at $49 in the nose bleeds, and expensive seats for $1,300 (while that is a hefty price, note that similar great seats for Beyoncé or Taylor Swift sold for at least five times more than that). No concert in the rest of the tour appears to be sold out.
While in New York City, don’t expect Timberlake to party — he doesn’t want a repeat of this summer where he was charged with driving while intoxicated after “chugging drinks” at the American Hotel in Sag Harbor (charges were later reduced).
