Justin Timberlake postponed his show in Newark, New Jersey, minutes before the doors opened — and fans are pissed.
The 43-year-old singer announced he would not take the stage at the Prudential Center on Tuesday, Oct. 8, just one hour before showtime. Timberlake’s concert was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. ET, and he posted the news via Instagram minutes before 6 p.m. ET.
“I’m so sorry to postpone tonight’s show. I have an injury that is preventing me from performing. I’m so disappointed to not see you all – but I’m working to reschedule ASAP. I promise to make it up to you and give you the show y’all deserve. Thank you guys for understanding. Appreciate your support always,” Timberlake’s statement read.
Hours earlier, the “No Angels” singer shared a clip of him jumping around with his buddy, late-night host Jimmy Fallon.
Concertgoers immediately flooded Timberlake’s announcement with angry comments, with several expressing their disappointment that he waited until the eleventh hour.
“R U KIDDING. 30 minutes before doors!?” one annoyed fan replied. “Cry me a river,” another shared.
“Bro i sold my dog to go tonight WTF 🤬,” wrote a third while someone else commented, “but I’m dressed already…”
Another angry fan blamed Fallon.
“This what happens the night after hanging out with jimmy….im certain its jimmy related,” they replied, calling the TV host a “bad influence” on Timberlake.
While the Grammy winner promised to make up for the show he was missing, he did not provide a date. Timberlake did not divulge details on his injury or how he obtained it. It’s also unclear if he’ll perform at his next scheduled concert in Philadelphia on Friday, Oct. 11.
The Post has reached out to Timberlake’s rep.
The canceled show comes just hours after the singer went viral for awkwardly trying to get a clueless fan’s attention as he stood in front of her during his Forget Tomorrow world tour concert in Montreal.
In the clip, Timberlake bent over to the audience member, who was playing on her cellphone, oblivious that he was inches away from her.. When she finally realized her error, the “SexyBack” crooner walked away, and she tried grabbing his leg.
Following the Montreal show, Timberlake performed at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn on Oct. 7 and helped a couple get engaged, according to People.
His concert postponement also comes after he took a plea deal in his drunk driving case following his DWI arrest in June. He pled guilty to a lesser charge of driving while alcohol impaired instead of driving while intoxicated, which is a felony.
After being pulled over by police, Timberlake told the cop that his arrest would “ruin the tour.” When the officer asked, “What tour?” the musician responded, “The world tour.”
Timberlake was slapped on the wrist and ordered to 25 hours of community service.
His Forget Tomorrow world tour is scheduled to continue in North America through Feb. 3, 2025, before he heads to Latin America and then begins the European leg of the tour, which will run until July 20.
