Colorado wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter just finished one of the best seasons in college football history, and he was promptly rewarded with the 2024 Heisman Trophy.
A projected top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Hunter caught 92 passes for 1,152 yards and 14 touchdowns on offense, and he added 32 tackles, 11 deflections, four interceptions, and a forced fumble on defense.
Thousands of fans watched as Hunter narrowly edged out Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty by just 214 points (2,231 to 2,017), and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese was among them.
Like many, Reese had quite the emotional reaction to Hunter’s achievement. She even tweeted about the joy she felt as Hunter gave an emotional acceptance speech in which he thanked his parents, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders and CU quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who is also projected to be a top-10 pick next April.
“Why am I crying 😭 I’m so happy for Travis man!!” Reese tweeted.

Reese was just one of a few people who were moved to tears with Hunter’s triumph. His mother Ferrante Harris was also teary-eyed as she did an interview during the ceremony and gave a heartwarming speech about Hunter’s road to the Heisman.
Many fans had the same reaction as Reese, the WNBA Rookie of the Year runner-up, and they took to the comment section to share in Hunter’s success.
“Had us in tears! So happy for him!” one fan stated.
“Same. Had me bawling 😭” another wrote.
“I shed a tear also during his speech no cap,” a third remarked.
“You wasn’t the only one lil sis,” added a fourth fan.
