The Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic (37) and his wife Jelena (38) are celebrating a beautiful anniversary today – 10 years since their wedding, which took place in the luxurious resort “Aman Sveti Stefan” in Budva, Montenegro.
On that occasion, the tennis player dedicated an emotional post to his beloved wife and dedicated a song to her in which he thanked her for all the wonderful moments in the last decade. Djokovic released a compilation video with the best moments of the couple’s life, and the romantic song “Islands in the Stream” by Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers plays in the background.
In a few hours, this post collected more than 400 thousand likes and numerous congratulatory comments.
“Congratulations on love. Family is the best thing that can happen”, “The best couple of all”, “Novak – the poet. Very nice. Happy anniversary”, are some of the comments.
To recall, Novak and Jelena Djokovic have known each other since their teenage years, when their love for sports brought them together.
“She won me over at first sight with her smile.” Of course, looks always come first, but love requires much more. Jelena was honest from the first moment and thank God that we met before I achieved great success, because I know that she is with me because of me, because of Novak, because of the child she met when she was 17 years old. She is my biggest supporter, she is capable, ambitious and strong, that’s what makes me happy,” Djokovic once said.
Their relationship got complicated when Jelena went to study in Italy, and Novak had to devote himself more to his career.
“Our dates were science fiction. I was a student who could barely afford to study abroad, and he was a tennis player who also didn’t have the money to finance an expensive trip. Airplanes were spaceships for us, we couldn’t afford it,” Jelena once recalled.
Until graduation, the couple maintained a long-distance relationship, then moved to Monaco together.
They got engaged in 2013, and a year later they got married in Sveti Stefan, Montenegro.
Four months later Jelena gave birth to their first child, son Stefan. Three years later, they had a daughter, Tara.
