Andy Roddick and Nick Kyrgios have had plenty of differences ever since the Australian’s comments on Jannik Sinner’s doping saga.

Andy Roddick claims he ‘can’t take his eyes off’ Nick Kyrgios despite their recent backlashes regarding Jannik Sinner’s doping saga

Nick Kyrgios is a tennis player who always draws attention, whether for positive or negative reasons. Recently, the Australian star has made headlines for his critical comments about Jannik Sinner‘s doping case.

Andy Roddick, a former World No. 1, has opposed Kyrgios’ remarks. Roddick believes that if the 2022 Wimbledon runner-up performs well at the Australian Open, the focus will naturally be on his game. However, he hopes the attention shifts from Kyrgios’ social media behavior to his tennis skills.

You’re too good, too talented, and too capable of being tweeting syringes and commenting on players’ off-court lives and shadowboxing fights for clicks and likes. It’s just, I hate it. What we do know is that the attention will be there. If he gets rocking at the Australian Open, we can’t stop watching him. I hope he knows that we’re watching because of his artistry with a tennis racket and not because he inserts himself into dumb stupid petulant conversations.

Kyrgios and Sinner’s relationship has changed significantly since the Italian tested positive twice for clostebol in March. Kyrgios believes Sinner should face consequences similar to those given to players like Simona Halep, who received a lengthy ban for a similar case.

At last year’s Australian Open, the two players were seen enjoying each other’s company after Sinner won his first Grand Slam title. Kyrgios even jokingly suggested that Sinner become his coach to help him win a Grand Slam.

Nick Kyrgios drops massive injury concern ahead of the Australian Open

Unfortunately won’t be able to play my good friend (Djokovic) this Thursday as I’ve had an ultrasound on my abdominal and have a grade 1 strain.

Nick Kyrgios said on his Instagram story

Kyrgios has played only one match on the ATP Tour in the last two years due to a wrist injury. The injury has raised concerns about the future of his career. Last week, he returned to action at the ATP 250 tournament in Brisbane. He lost a tight match against Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, 7-6(2), 6-7(4), 7-6(3).

During the match, Kyrgios appeared to experience discomfort in his wrist. Now, he has confirmed an abdominal injury, which is a bigger concern. This setback forced him to withdraw from an exhibition match against Novak Djokovic, an event planned to support children’s charities.

If Kyrgios cannot compete in Melbourne, it will once again cast doubt on his tennis career. Even so, his influence as a prominent voice in the sport is likely to remain strong.
