Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry was sidelined due to an injury but made a quick comeback. After returning, the four-time NBA champion began dominating the league with impressive performances. In a recent game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Curry scored 36 points, recorded seven assists, and grabbed five rebounds. However, the next game will be crucial for him.
Curry will play in the next game against the Dallas Mavericks, where he will compete against his former teammate Klay Thompson. During a post-game interview, the 36-year-old was asked about his mentality when playing against Thompson.
Reporter: “Steph, we’re finally at the game now where you can process the emotions of having to play against Klay Thompson. What is that gonna be like for you?”
Curry: “Don’t do this to me. Don’t do this to me, Fez. I’m not ready for this, man.”
Curry was very excited about competing against his close friend Thompson in the upcoming game against the Mavericks.
Klay Thompson Opens Up About His Approach To Play Against Curry And Former Team
Thompson and Curry played together for 13 years on the Golden State Warriors. Alongside Draymond Green, they won 4 NBA championships for the team. However, the trio was broken when Thompson left in the offseason to join the Mavericks. As he prepares to face his former team and Curry for the first time in the regular season, the Mavericks forward is not excited about it.
“It’ll be good to see people you grinded with obviously, but to me, it’s just another regular season game in November.” Thompson said during a recent interview with Mike Curtis.
Curry and Thompson have played together for many years, so the upcoming game is poised to thrill fans. Observing their competition will undoubtedly be a remarkable experience for their supporters.
