Indeed, there was a big visit last night for the game between the Montreal Canadiens and the Dallas Stars at the Bell Centre.
None other than former team defenseman Mike Komisarek was present and was warmly welcomed by the crowd at the Bell Centre.
We love it.
Check out the little statement the Canadiens posted about this.
Actually, there was even another special guest who was introduced to the crowd:
Georges St-Pierre helped fire up the Montreal Canadiens fans, and we love it.
Nice visit at the Bell Centre
If we go back to Mike Komisarek, he is now 42 years old.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound right-handed defenseman, who was drafted 7th overall by the Montreal Canadiens in 2001 (1st round), accumulated 81 points in 551 career games in the NHL (679 penalty minutes).
He played for the Canadiens organization from 2002 to 2009, and with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization from 2010 to 2013, before finishing his career in 2014 with the Carolina Hurricanes.
Clearly, Canadiens fans have not forgotten him.
It’s really nice to see a former player like him take the time to return to town, and it’s great to see that his return was highlighted by the organization.
You can really feel that the Montreal Canadiens want to reconnect with their former players, and it’s working.
We saw a similar scene with Mike Cammalleri a few weeks ago.
