When is Caitlin Clark playing in golf tournament alongside Annika Sorenstam? Details of Fever star’s LPGA Tour debut explored
WNBA players often head overseas during the offseason, but Caitlin Clark is taking a different path by participating in a golf tournament. She’s set to join the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) event, where she’ll play alongside 10-time Major champion Annika Sorenstam, who also hosts the tournament.
The event, “ANNIKA driven by Gainbridge” will feature Caitlin Clark, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, during its week-long festivities from Nov. 11 to 17 at Pelican Golf Club.
Clark is scheduled to serve as a panelist at the Women’s Leadership Summit on Tuesday, Nov. 12. She will then take part in the Wednesday Pro-Am on Nov. 13. Both events will be at the Pelican Golf Club in Belleair, Florida.
“I love golf so the opportunity to play in the Pro-Am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting,” Clark said (per LPGA.com)

“I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women’s Leadership Summit, and, of course, teeing it up in the pro-am with Annika,” she added.
Clark previously played in the pro-am for the 2023 John Deere Classic before her record-breaking WNBA rookie season.
After the Indiana Fever got eliminated by the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs, Clark expressed her eagerness to hit the golf course.
“I don’t know what I’m going to do tomorrow. I don’t know what I’m going to do the next day. Maybe play some golf,” Clark said. “That’s what I’m gonna do until it gets too cold in Indiana. I’ll become a professional golfer.”
Caitlin Clark unlikely to play basketball during the offseason
During Game 2 of the Fever’s first-round series against the Sun, ESPN commentator Ryan Ruocco revealed that Clark likely won’t be playing basketball during the offseason.
“We talked to Caitlin Clark earlier today. She said she almost definitely will not play basketball this offseason. So it is likely we will not see her play again until April,” Ruocco said during the broadcast.
Typically, WNBA players join international basketball leagues during the offseason, and the upcoming Unrivaled 3×3 league, featuring Angel Reese and other WNBA stars, is also an option.
Caitlin Clark wrapped up her rookie season averaging 19.2 points, 8.4 assists and 5.7 rebounds, shattering several records in the process.
She set WNBA rookie records for points and assists, including the most assists in a single season by any WNBA player. Clark also set a single-game assist record with 19.
Additionally, she holds the rookie record for 3-pointers, logged the first triple-double by a WNBA rookie, recorded the first triple-double in Fever history, and became the first rookie to post two triple-doubles.
