The option of calling up young goaltender Jakub Dobes to the Montreal Canadiens has finally been raised on BPM Sports by Renaud Lavoie.

We love it.

We mentioned it in recent hours, and now TVA Sports journalist has indeed brought up this possibility.

And, as he points out, Kent Hughes doesn’t have to call up Dobes for the rest of the season or place Cayden Primeau on waivers.

Why not give Dobes a game or two, keeping three goaltenders in Montreal in the short term, and then reassess?

Anyway, Connor Hughes is more than capable of being the number one goalie for the Laval Rocket.

Should the Canadiens call up Jakub Dobes? The question was just raised by Renaud Lavoie

See an excerpt from this very interesting discussion.

“The current goalie duo, whether it’s Samuel or Cayden, both know very well that they are capable of taking their game to another level.

At some point, if you want to send a message, you have a kid in Laval who’s doing well.. Take advantage, call him up for a game. Kind of like what Cayden Primeau went through with the Montreal Canadiens.

In the end, Dobes, firstly, for those who have crossed paths or met him, he’s quite the athlete, quite a physical presence..Incredible flexibility..

This kid is going to eventually play in the NHL, and calling him up for a game or two isn’t going to ruin his career.”

I love the idea.

And you, do you think the Montreal Canadiens should call up young goaltender Jakub Dobes?
