Zayn Malik Regrets Not Enjoying His Time With One Direction

Although admitting he is happier after leaving One Direction, Zayn still regrets not enjoying his time as a member of the group.

During the Live Show, Zayn Malik frankly mentioned his old band One Direction after many years of leaving the group. Accordingly, the male singer affirmed that he did not fully enjoy this period.

“The thing that I always feel bad about when looking back on my life is that I did not love the band enough,” Zayn admitted, “I feel like I took everything too seriously.”

However, this does not mean that the 1993-born star regrets leaving his once-famous band. He affirmed that he was happier after leaving the group, but at the present time, he looks at everything with a more positive eye.

“I’m grateful that I can be happier now. I can really enjoy myself and speak my mind. It’s like looking at a full glass of water or an empty glass of water. It’s my choice,” the British singer added.

Zayn announced his departure from One Direction in 2015. At the time, it was shocking news as the British band were loved all over the world. They were even the best-selling boy band of all time before they stopped working.

At the time of leaving the group, Zayn always appeared extremely pressured and tired in interviews: “After the breakup, I felt like this was the right time for me to leave. I wanted to apologize to the fans for disappointing them, but I had to do what my heart wanted.”
