Dallas Wings forward Satou Sabally sent the WNBA world into a frenzy after confirming her upcoming unrestricted free-agent status. She was spotted liking multiple requests from fans asking her to join Caitlin Clark on the Indiana Fever.

After a magical season for Clark and her team, several free agents could be interested in joining them to reach the top of the league for the second time in franchise history. Sabally could be a key piece in a potential championship, but it’s still too early to tell.

5 reasons why Satou Sabally should join Indiana Fever

#5, She’d be another threat from 3-point range

Satou Sabally would be an unbelievable fit for the Indiana Fever, as she would be the solution to one of their biggest needs this season. She’s a perimeter player who can shoot 3-pointers at a decent level. Giving her that role would do wonders for the Fever ahead of a highly anticipated 2025 WNBA season.

#4, Major upgrade to NaLyssa Smith

NaLyssa Smith has fallen out of grace with the Fever fans due to her relationship with Connecticut Sun star DiJonai Carrington, who made headlines for a foul on Clark. On the other hand, Sabally has been very supportive of Clark, celebrating her success with fans and her presence in the locker room could make things easier.

#3, Can guard multiple positions

Besides being a terrific scorer, Satou Sabally can stand her ground on defense. She’s not a regular forward who can only go against bigger players but can take on different challenges during games. Her defensive abilities are remarkable and her 1.6 steals per game in the last two seasons are a big testament to that.

#2, Satou Sabally has playoff experience

The 2023 WNBA season was a terrific one for Sabally. Not only did she win the Most Improved Player of the Year award, but also led her team to the second round of the playoffs after sweeping the Atlanta Dreams in the first round. The Las Vegas Aces took them out in three games to advance to the Finals.

#1, Another star to take pressure off Caitlin Clark

Adding Satou Sabally to the Indiana Fever roster would give them another star to rely on. The team has Aliyah Boston, who is scratching the surface of her game, and putting Sabally next to her could finally unlock her potential. Caitlin Clark demonstrated that she’s the real deal, but pairing her up with Sabally would put the Fever among the title contenders for next season.
