Since the beginning of the season, rumors suggest that the Canadiens are looking to improve by acquiring a strong gritty forward.
In an interview on TSN 690, the reputable insider stated that several teams were trying to acquire Lawson Crouse from the Utah hockey team.
Among these teams is the Montreal Canadiens, who would love to welcome a player of Lawson Crouse’s caliber.
Lawson Crouse: A Trade Target for Kent Hughes and the Habs on Offense?
In any case, he’s a character player and a challenging forward to play against.
The insider’s comments on him are quite eloquent, and he has all the assets to help any team. We’re talking about a player in his prime at 27, with a big frame, capable of scoring goals, and with a decent contract that wouldn’t strain the salary cap.
However, according to some of his sources across the National Hockey League, Pagnotta mentioned that Bill Armstrong, the GM of Utah, is rather demanding in his asking price for this forward.
A first-round pick of the Arizona Coyotes in the 2015 draft, Crouse has just completed three consecutive 20-goal seasons and could be an excellent asset for Martin St-Louis, who could use him in various roles.
It remains to be seen what price Kent Hughes would be willing to pay to acquire him without overly impacting his core of young prospects, which Bill Armstrong might request in exchange for Lawson Crouse.
Do you like the idea? Do you think he could be the rugged forward targeted by the Montreal Canadiens?
