Angel Reese jokingly shed light on her NCAA basketball scholarship after fans watched her and her brother dancing. A video shared by a fan account on X (formerly Twitter), dedicated to Reese and Chicago Sky teammate Kamilla Cardoso, captured the siblings dancing, sparking a flurry of reactions.

One of the fans joked about the grocery bills Angel and Julian Reese’s parents had to pay while growing up.

“What were mrs. Angel’s grocery bills like feeding these two giant children?!!” @amerikraut asked.

Reese replied:

“It was INSANE😭 that’s why it was a non-negotiable that we went to college for free!”

Like his sister, Julian Reese has played for the Maryland Terrapins in college since 2021-22. The forward is a junior after playing 32, 34 and 32 games in the last three seasons, respectively. In 2023-24, he averaged 13.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game while shooting 54.6% from the field.

Angel had a more honored college career than her brother, playing 116 games between the Terrapins and the LSU Tigers, averaging 18.6 ppg, 12.3 rpg and 1.9 apg, shooting 49.8% from the field and 70.4% from the free-throw line. She was an NCAA champion, a two-time SEC All-Defense player, a three-time AP All-American and more.

Angel Reese finished her rookie season with the Chicago Sky, breaking records and showing glimpses of her potential as a two-way threat, setting new records for the most consecutive double-doubles in a season and the most rebounds before A’ja Wilson broke it.

Angel Reese expressed her heartbreak after Sky fired Teresa Weatherspoon

After the Chicago Sky fired coach Teresa Weatherspoon, Reese shared an emotional post on X.

“I’m heartbroken,” Reese said. “I’m literally lost for words knowing what this woman meant to me in such a pivotal point in my life. She was the only person that believed in me. The one that trusted me.”

Reese thanked Weatherspoon for believing in her and the team, even though they couldn’t get the job done.

“Many don’t even know what it’s like to be a Black woman in sports when nobody believes in you,” Reese said. “You had a tough job. All the crazy circumstances that we went through this year & when your back was against the wall, you always believed.”

The Sky finished this season 13-27 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2018.
