The San Francisco 49ers spectacularly opened their season Monday night as they took home a victory over Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. However, running back Jordan Mason was involved in an interesting conversation during the game.
Mason was slated to start during the Monday Night Football match-up due to an injury caused by starting back Christian McCaffrey. However, one Sportbook, bet365, didn’t consider it until many fans had already bet.
Bet365 didn’t change the odds after McCaffrey’s injury, yet they had plenty of time to be changed, which led many fans to bet on Mason having more than 13.5 rushing yards and be angry with Sportsbook.
Jordan Mason had way more than the 13.5 yards that Bet365 thought he would have before screwing over fans. He ran for over 140 yards on 28 attempts in the Monday night victory over Gang Green.
Jordan Mason’s Betting Line Was Changed And Fans Are Not Happy
One fan made a very fair statement, saying that bettors should be aware when betting, as it truly is “us vs the books.” The fan seemed extremely baffled by the decision made by the sportsbook, which caused a lot more money to be lost, calling it “wild.”
Another fan questioned the legitimacy of the betting line change post-bet and said, “It’s honestly crazy they can change this after it’s taken… it should be illegal,” which many people would agree with.
While it’s unknown whether specific measures will be taken to avoid circumstances like this, if one thing is for sure, Jordan Mason certainly made a statement. Fans should have made lots of money after the player’s performance.
