Embattled footballer Kyle Walker appears poised to embark on a new chapter in Italy, with reports suggesting a potential move to Inter Milan.
For the Manchester City defender, this represents an opportunity to leave behind the turmoil of his personal life,
including a contentious child maintenance battle and a strained marriage with his wife, Annie Kilner.
However, the news is unlikely to be welcomed by Lauryn Goodman, Kyle’s ex and the mother of his two children, Kairo and Kinara.
Over the years, Lauryn has remained in the spotlight, often making pointed remarks about Kyle and Annie while navigating her own legal and financial struggles.
The complex relationship between Lauryn and Kyle became public in 2019, when it was revealed that Kyle fathered Kairo during a brief split from Annie.
Tensions escalated in December 2023 when Lauryn informed Annie that Kyle was also the father of her newborn daughter, Kinara.
This revelation came amidst ongoing disputes over child support and property arrangements, adding fuel to an already fraught situation.
Lauryn currently resides in a £2.4 million Sussex mansion owned by Kyle, a property purchased during their legal negotiations.
Despite the luxurious surroundings, the arrangement has limited her autonomy, as she requires Kyle’s permission to rent out the house.
This restriction became a focal point when Lauryn expressed a desire to relocate to Dubai, a move she believed would align with Kyle’s rumored transfer to a Middle Eastern team. However, with Kyle now set to move to Italy, her plans have been disrupted once again.
The fallout from these developments has been compounded by Lauryn’s public struggles. Appearing on the reality show Celebs Go Dating, she tearfully described her ongoing challenges, stating that she feels like she is “constantly going to war” for her children.
Despite her efforts, Lauryn’s attempts to remain closely tied to Kyle have often backfired. For example, her request for a £70,000 luxury car every three years and a £30,000 vehicle for her nanny—who reportedly does not drive—were dismissed during their legal battle.
In a searing judgment last summer, a judge described Kyle as “grounded and reasonable” while criticizing Lauryn for her financial demands, which included a £33,000 air conditioning unit for her Sussex home.
Kyle was ultimately ordered to pay £12,500 per month in child maintenance, along with additional childcare and schooling expenses.
The strained dynamic has also played out in the public eye, with Lauryn sharing cryptic social media posts and leaking alleged messages from Kyle.
These actions have drawn criticism from Kyle’s camp, with sources describing them as unnecessary and damaging to all parties involved, particularly the children.
Kyle, for his part, has refrained from engaging publicly in the disputes. Instead, he has focused on his career and family with Annie, with whom he shares four sons: Roman, Riaan, Reign, and baby Rezon. The couple married following Kyle’s reconciliation with Annie, a decision that reportedly left Lauryn feeling sidelined.
Despite the ongoing drama, Kyle’s move to Italy could provide a fresh start. Reports indicate that he has already held a farewell party in Manchester as he prepares to conclude his seven-and-a-half-year stint at the club.
Both Milan teams are reportedly interested in securing his services, with the possibility of a loan deal evolving into a permanent transfer.
For Lauryn, Kyle’s relocation may mark yet another setback in her efforts to maintain a connection to his life. While her future plans remain uncertain, the move underscores a broader shift in the footballer’s focus, as he seeks to rebuild both personally and professionally.
As the drama unfolds, one thing is clear: Kyle’s decision to move abroad represents not just a career opportunity but also a chance to move forward from the turbulence that has defined his personal life in recent years.
