Jerry Jones Ignites Controversy by Confessing to Ditch Cowboys Fans at ‘Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul’ Amid Stadium Debate
Jerry Jones is not new to controversy now! The most recent is his rejection comments at the $2.1 billion AT&T stadium overhaul. But the irony is, he is arguably more interested in pleasing the boxing fans!
Yes, you heard it right! Jerry Jones recently ignited another controversy during his appearance at the pre-boxing analysis show. The contest between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul is scheduled to take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, and will kick off at 04:00 GMT.
But ahead of the matchup, Jones, who appeared on the talk show podium, said, “We are so excited in the NFL about Netflix becoming a huge part of our future. This tonight gives us a chance to go to 40, 50 million people and it from right here. When I was thinking about this stadium, I could have had a place for a third of it for the Cowboys fans. But I knew that people would probably be watching this thing all over the United States… And this stadium is honored to have these.”
With this statement, he clearly means that when designing the stadium, he considered building it solely for local Cowboys fans. However, he realized the value of creating something that could represent and engage a national audience through broadcasts. His comments reflect pride in hosting such events. And the honor of being a part of a broader football experience for fans everywhere.
But what about the players? And even the Cowboys fans who want to see their favorites perform well and win the games. Not losing to the Sun at least.
Jerry Jones is coming up with a dual perspective?
The rage has started on social media. The reason? Cowboys owner, Jerry Jones reported hypocrisy. This stems from the recent Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul game when the 82-year-old decided to put up curtains to block the Sun at AT&T stadium. Fans on social media went crazy on seeing this. As many slammed Jones for not installing curtains for the Cowboys’ game, and let his team be blinded for half the game.
The question is genuine, and we will soon see what Jones has to offer. Until then, he has a clear answer on not sun-blocking the stadium – “That stadium was built to feel like you’re outdoors… It has over three million cubic feet of air-conditioned space. My biggest thought when we were building it was don’t have it not look like it’s outdoors.”
It’s a tough battle for the Cowboys team, which they are facing against their own owner.
