Post Malone Surprises Charleston Fans With Homegrown Legend Darius Rucker, Deliver “Wagon Wheel” Duet
One of these days we are going to have to make a lengthy list of all the musicians Post Malone has collaborated with. Though, for now, we are going to stick to the matter at hand, which is Malone’s recent show in Charleston, South Carolina. The highlight of the show—Malone bringing Charleston native Darius Rucker up on stage.
Before we get to details of Malone and Rucker’s performance, it’s fair to place a little context on Malone’s plethora of live collaborations. In addition to Rucker, Malone’s F-1 Trillion Tour has also included, HARDY, ERNEST, and opener Muscadine Bloodline. Now added to that list, and arguably the one with the greatest reception, is the “Wagon Wheel” singer.
Post Malone Introduces Darius Rucker
If one has ever watched Malone do anything publicly, they know he is possibly the nicest, kindest, and most sincere artist currently in the game. He reinforced these superlatives by introducing Rucker in a genuine fashion. Malone yelled out, “Y’all might know this crazy motherf—” and “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the stage an absolutely stunning man and an absolutely handsome man and a beautiful friend, Mr. Darius Rucker.”
Following a “Darius” chant led by Malone, he politely asked Rucker, “Would you sing for us?” Rucker replied, “I would love to sing,” and then bang! The two broke out into song and started with Rucker’s 2008 hit “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It.” A tremendous performance, yes, but sang not only to perform but also to entice. The two then broke and sang Rucker’s most famous song “Wagon Wheel.” And as one could probably guess, the crowd went absolutely berzerk.
What Is to Come on The F-1 Trillion Tour
Already, Post Malone has exceeded the public’s expectations for his latest tour. That being said, what is to come next? As of now, Malone’s tour is set to end on October 27. So, there seemingly isn’t enough time to do anything as grandiose as inviting Darius Rucker on stage.
However, it is Post Malone, one of the biggest musicians with seemingly unlimited resources and monstrous appeal and pull. So, even though Malone has less than 10 shows left, it is fair to assume that something enormous is bound to happen. We can’t wait to find out.
